You can make a difference. $1 a day adds up over time. Every dollar donated to the Bass Coast Community Foundation is invested and interest and dividends from these investments are returned to the community of Bass Coast in the form of grants and awards.
The Bass Coast Community Foundation exists to make a difference in people’s lives across the Bass Coast region. It can only fund charitable community initiatives and projects in the Bass Coast area, meaning locals can donate to a charity that is 100% focused on delivering 100% of its funding to projects important to our community.
Since its inception in 2002, the Foundation has raised over $1,000,000 and holds this in Trust, in perpetuity, for the benefit of Bass Coast. That means there will always be a long-term source of funds for community needs. The staff and directors of the Foundation are always working to expand this Trust Fund and grow the monies available to give back to the community.
“Giving money to community projects is one of the highlights of the role of a director”, said Martin Keogh, Chairman of the Bass Coast Community Foundation. “Over the past 18 years the Foundation has distributed over $1,000,000 to Bass Coast individuals and organisations in support of education and development, driver training, performing arts, energy innovation and the well-being of youth and older people” said Mr Keogh.
This is only possible through the generosity of a small number of people in the community that have donated money to the Foundation over its life time, and the dedicated volunteers and staff that seek grants and monies from outside the Bass Coast for projects in the area.
Every donation helps, no matter if it is small or large. One of the greatest gifts a person can give is to leave a Gift to the Foundation in their Will. The Trust Fund has benefited greatly from the passing of some elderly residents and these dear people will always be remembered through the distribution of monies to causes and projects that were dear to their hearts when they were alive. “It is a great legacy” said Mr Keogh.
People interested in learning how they can make a difference to Bass Coast should contact the Foundation to discuss options. Donating is made easy, whether a one-off donation or a regular amount through www.givenow/basscoastfoundation.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
