With a mutual touch of sadness, the Bass Coast Community Foundation farewells its chairman, Martin Keogh.

Martin joined the board in 2011 and has led the Foundation since 2013. In addition to the Foundation he is also a director and chair of the Bass Coast University Centre Ltd, has a fulltime job as Manager of Learning and Teaching with the Catholic Education Office, Diocese of Sale and is a very active family man.

“The Foundation is currently in the strongest position it has been since I have chaired the board. The right people are around the table and we have an executive officer who is capable of driving the business forward. In any other circumstance I would not step down, and whilst there is more to be done, I have a view that my stepping aside provides an opportunity for the foundation to continue to grow,” said Martin.

At its recent meeting of the board an acting chairman was appointed to lead the organisation to the AGM, to be held in October 2020, following the resignation of Martin. The acting chairman is long term director and well know member of the Foundation, Carol Blair. Carol is ably supported by her replacement in the deputy chairman position by David Admans.

“Martin has been with the foundation for nine years and has contributed significantly to its growth and stability, and to the well-being of the community as a whole through many hours of voluntary work on behalf of the Foundation” said Carol. “He leaves big shoes to fill”.

It is Martin’s passion for education that has won the tug-of-war on time and the Foundation thanks him sincerely for everything he has done for the community and our organisation.

Farewell Martin, and thank you.
